Name: Josh Lamb
Job Title: Warehouse Manager - Bridlington Depot
1. What’s your role at TQ, and what do you actually do day to day?
I manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and distribution centre, ensuring staffing levels, systems, and procedures meet business needs. My role involves; overseeing warehouse staff and drivers, maintaining health and safety standards, managing stock control, picking accuracy, vehicle loading, and vehicle maintenance. I ensure compliance with company policies, deliver training, monitor performance, and maintain the site and equipment. I also support in both the cold store and ambient areas when needed.
2. What do you enjoy most about working here?
What I enjoy most about being a warehouse manager is the variety and responsibility that comes with the role. Every day brings new challenges-whether it’s solving operational issues, improving efficiency, or leading the team to hit targets. I take real pride in creating a smooth-running operation where staff are motivated and everything moves as it should. I also enjoy the problem-solving aspect, especially when it comes to logistics, rotas, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety across the board. Seeing the positive impact of good planning and teamwork is really rewarding.
3. What’s one project or achievement you're really proud of?
One achievement I’m really proud of is launching our scooped ice cream range with a wide variety of flavours’. Initially, it was a challenge because we didn’t have much space to work with, but we managed to set up an efficient system despite that. Now, we’ve expanded to include a selection of cones, sprinkles, and flakes to complement the ice cream. This has been an exciting step for us as we grow more into the desserts side of the business, and it’s been rewarding to see how well it’s been received.
4. What’s something surprising about your career journey?
Something surprising about my career journey is that I started out as a summer temp. Over time, I progressed to a full-time warehouse operative, then moved into a supervisor role, and eventually became the warehouse manager. It’s been a rewarding journey that I never expected when I first stepped through the doors.

5. What advice would you give to someone just starting in your role or team?
Take pride in what you do. You might not love every aspect of the job, but you can always take pride in doing it to the best of your ability. That mind-set will not only help you grow but also earn respect from your team.
6. What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love spending time with my family, enjoying days out together, and making lasting memories.
7. Any fun facts?
Did you know that not everyone experiences an inner monologue? An inner monologue is like the voice inside your head that talks to you throughout the day. But some people don’t have this constant verbal thinking — their thoughts might come as images, feelings, or just a general sense instead of words. It’s a surprising difference in how our minds work!
