Name: Mark Moody
Job Title: Finance Administrator
Time at T. Quality: 10 years
1. What’s your role at TQ, and what do you actually do day to day?
I am a Finance Administrator at our Head Office in Swindon. This involves processing the sales ledger transactions for the depots I look after, including posting cash, BACS, chip & pin, and telephone payments onto customer accounts, ensuring they are correctly allocated, and keeping the accounts tidy. I also raise credits for customers who have returned items, open accounts for new customers, and look into queries raised either by customers or colleagues. In addition, I help on the purchase ledger side with entering expense invoices and running payments.
2. What do you enjoy most about working here?
The atmosphere in the office is great. The people and the support you get all contribute to a positive working environment.
3. What’s one project or achievement you're really proud of?
Working on the trade counter throughout the Covid pandemic was a challenging time, but keeping the counter open to serve our customers was really important to me.
4. What’s something surprising about your career journey?
I actually started working for T. Quality in 2015 at the Peterborough depot, where I had a role as an Operations Administrator along with working in the warehouse. I moved to Swindon in 2016, where I took up the role of Counter Sales Adviser on the trade counter, which I really enjoyed. I was in that role for five years before being offered the chance to join the finance team. In my current role, I now take the work I did as an Operations Administrator through the next stage of the process, and this knowledge and experience have been invaluable to me. I am also able to give advice and support not only to people in our Swindon depot but also to other departments and depots across the country. Progression is definitely possible at T. Quality if you work hard for it.
5. What advice would you give to someone just starting in your role or team?
Take pride in what you do, stay positive, and work hard. Ask lots of questions, your colleagues are always there to help you on your way.
6. What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I enjoy taking my son to football and watching him play for his local team. I also love going on bike rides with him, family time is the best.

7. Any fun facts?
My son knows that I won six football trophies when I was a boy. He is determined to win more than me, and I’m sure he will!
8. At work, I’m known for…
Being the Swindon depot’s Mental Health First Aider, someone who is there to help and support colleagues in any way I can.
